At Greenfields School, we pride ourselves on our diversity, with staff from over ten countries and students from even more. Celebrating World Day for Cultural Diversity was a meaningful way for us to bring our community together.
Many students came dressed in traditional clothing, showcasing the rich cultures represented at our school. Parents contributed by cooking dishes from their home countries for everyone to enjoy. It was a delightful culinary journey, giving students the chance to taste flavours from around the world.
In addition to the delicious food, students shared stories about their home countries, answering questions and educating their classmates about different cultures. The Primary School Drama Teacher brought a touch of Ireland to the celebration by teaching a lesson on Irish dancing, getting both students and teachers moving to the lively rhythms.
A highlight of the day was a special assembly where the Head Teacher and his band, featuring members from Scotland, England, Australia, and Hungary, performed songs from their home countries. The students loved the performance, which added a festive atmosphere to the celebration.
We extend a big thank you to all the parents who provided food, shared stories about their countries and contributed to making the day a success. Your involvement made this celebration truly special and memorable for everyone.
