Welcome to Greenfields Day and Boarding School
Greenfields is a small, independent day and boarding school offering both weekly and full-time boarding. As a non-denominational private school, we have students from all different backgrounds and faiths and they all get along great.
The school is set in the heart of the East Sussex countryside surrounded by forestry, fields and lakes and just five minutes away is the quaint village of Forest Row and we are twenty minutes from Gatwick Airport.

Our Curriculum
Unlike many other schools, Greenfields has open admissions throughout the year. Due to our diverse ways of teaching, students are given complimentary entry assessments in Maths, English and all three Sciences. These assessment results, whether below average or above, are evaluated in great detail to place your child where he/she will succeed best. Any student who is displaying gaps in their learning from the previous years is given a personal ‘catch-up’ program to keep them on track. Likewise, any student who is above their year level will also be accommodated, keeping them feeling challenged.
We recognise that children have not always been taught to learn, which inhibits them from being able to comprehend fully, as well as think and act on the information. Additionally, we show students how to study with exceptional study tools, coupled with the Cambridge Curriculum framework in some subjects and National Curriculum, which results in a more focused student who is on track for a bright future!
We host both male and female students in boarding from the ages of 11 (Year 7) to -18 years. Students come from across the UK and internationally which creates a unique and exciting place to study and call home. Boarding students are cared for and looked after by our friendly boarding supervisors who ensure our students are performing academically well and feel comfortable in our family-style environment.
If you are looking for weekly boarding schools or full boarding, we can offer either 5 days a week for those wishing to go home on the weekends or 7 days a week for those students whose homes are further afield or who wish to stay and participate in the weekend excursions. Our fees are very affordable with generous discounts as the student progresses through the school.

Boarding Facilities
All meals are locally sourced and cooked on the premises. This consists of three healthy, delicious meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as snacks. Special diets (including Allergies, Vegetarian, Halal, Gluten Free etc.) are taken into account where this is needed. There is a boarding kitchen with healthy food and snacks available at all times. All boarders have the chance to go to the local supermarket once a week to purchase needed items or treats. There are also outings mid-week to the local leisure centre or shopping at the local supermarket.
Boarders also have access to the Boarders’ Lounge where they can relax with friends or alone. There are numerous activities and games for their entertainment, as well as secure internet access.
Activities
Activities are arranged in the evening and at weekends after the school day is complete. Weekend activities can include horse-riding and sailing in the Summer, shopping, go-carting, visiting famous landmarks of England or simply a fun day out! There is a tennis court, basketball court, football pitch and hockey pitch on site and students can join the local gym. We also have over 25 acres of land, so there is plenty of space in which to explore and exercise, keeping the students minds and bodies fit.
In the evenings, run by our boarding supervisors, there is a homework/study slot where students can keep up with their academics and complete any preparations needed for the next school day.
Affordable Fees and Generous Discounts
Greenfields aims to keep its fees comparatively low. There is a sibling discount and a generous longevity discount as a student moves up through the school, this allows a private education to be more easily accessible to your family. Fees are adjusted according to the entry year group and depending on requirements e.g. Boarding, EAL (English as an Additional Language), or Sixth Form. Tours
At Greenfields we prefer the personal approach with tours, giving you more time to ask questions and get answers. Tours are conducted during the term so that you experience our school on a normal working day. They are Monday to Friday at 10.00 am, 1.00 pm and 2.30 pm. If you are unable to come for a tour, the Admissions Manager can arrange a video call with you.
