Hello – Welcome Greenfields Independent Day and Boarding School, a member of the Independent Schools Association, set on the edge of the Royal Ashdown Forest in twenty-nine acres of our own woodland.

Visitors to the school frequently notice that there’s something special about Greenfields. The school’s ethos underpins everything we do, and creates a creates a unique atmosphere of industriousness and camaraderie. This is something the school has been known for since its inception in the 1980s.

At Greenfields, we give students the essential knowledge and skills for living, in particular the ability and confidence to study, understand and apply any subject whatsoever.  We achieve this by using the technology of study, as discovered and delineated by philosopher and educator Mr. L. Ron Hubbard, so that they can successfully follow whatever path they choose in life.

We are one of only a select number of schools to offer a continuity of education from preschool to university entrance. Students of all faiths, cultures and nationalities, aged from 2 to 18 receive an all-round education for life, and achieve excellent academic results. Boys and girls can join Greenfields at any age and at any time of year and we are open to students from all over the world and from all cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

We are a family-sized school of under 250 students offering unique benefits, including a friendly, caring and safe environment with zero tolerance of drugs or bullying. We offer a great experience in our boarding area, with a real family atmosphere and attention to detail and care for every student.

We have a technology of study which ensures that children really understand and can therefore use the information they learn. At Greenfields, students are given the tools that allow them to learn and to feel really passionate about their interests and chosen fields. This allows them to prepare for work or university with the confidence that they will excel.

As a former Greenfields student, I personally know the value of a Greenfields education and Study Technology, and the success that its application brings. I graduated from the school in 1989, and went on to University to gain a degree in the Arts, and after that a primary teaching qualification.

I established myself a reputation as a top-class classroom practitioner, and moved into school leadership rapidly after that as Head of Maths in a Middle School (9-13 yrs). My experience leading maths led to a consultancy post for Sandwell LA, where I supported teachers in over 50 schools, and delivered national training programmes across the region.

I became Head Teacher of a school in Crawley in 2015. At that time, the school had the lowest results of all the Primary Schools in the town. I led the school for eight years, achieving an Ofsted ‘good’ rating in 2018. Under my leadership the school went from strength to strength with results in 2022 significantly exceeding the average score of all Primary Schools across the country.

Throughout my career, I have applied Study Technology in challenging circumstances to help children from greatly diverse backgrounds. In January 2024 I joined Greenfields School as the new Head Teacher. Greenfields School gives every student the broad and balanced education they need to succeed in their future learning and their adult life, and I’m delighted to be part of that story.
