Greenfields Independent Day & Boarding School recently participated in a video production in association with the group, Youth for Human Rights.
The video will be presented at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games which start on Thursday 28th July. The Commonwealth is a collection of countries with an extraordinary history and with a track record of defending democracy, freedom and human rights.
The Declaration of Commonwealth Principles written in Singapore in 1971 includes the following extract:
“We believe in the liberty of the individual, in equal rights for all citizens regardless of race, colour, creed or political belief, and in their inalienable right to participate by means of free and democratic political processes in framing the society in which they live.”
Elisse Bonnaud, a young advocate for Youth for Human Rights who lives in Birmingham where the games are being held, asked if we could show some support for the Commonwealth, and welcome people to the games.
So along with some of her buddies, Greenfields Independent Day and Boarding School and other Youth for Human Rights children, YFHR made the attached Video.
It was a two-day video shoot in which Greenfields students demonstrated their acting and dancing skills in front of the camera. The result was a fantastic video which show the students playing some of the sports that are featured in this year’s Common Wealth games, but with their special twist.
They had a lot of fun and the video out on YouTube for all to see.
