The highlight of Greenfields Gala weekend at the end of every summer term is the Graduation Ceremony. The first speech was from Head Teacher, Grant Hudson and was followed by a talk from the Greenfields Educational Trust Chairman, Peter Hodkin. Then it was the turn of bestselling author and parent, Roger Ellory who gave an inspiring speech addressed to the graduates themselves.
The seven graduates then delivered outstanding speeches and there was laughter and tears as always as they gave summaries of their experiences and thanked parents, staff and their friends for seeing them happily through their time at school.
Application of the Study Technology and The Way to Happiness book by L. Ron Hubbard, as applied by the school, were often acknowledged especially as regards the doors the knowledge has opened for them and how it will help them to have successful careers and lives.
Next on the agenda was the outstanding achievement awards which were presented to this year’s winners by last year’s cup holders.
Head’s Tea
After the graduation ceremony the Head Teacher hosted a tea party for the graduates and their families along with VIP’s, Trust members, teachers and friends.
Graduate’s Ball
The final event of the Gala weekend was a Graduates’ Ball. This year’s theme was Fire and Ice. There were sparkling lights on the walls, ice sculpture centre pieces and lots of glittering decorations. The Graduates were served an excellent meal and then danced for most of the evening.
At midnight the evening ended off with a spectacular firework display and everyone left tired but happy as they said their goodbyes.
